A resident of Sevastopol will stand trial for committing the brutal murder of his cohabitant

The Main Investigation Department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol completed a criminal investigation against a 38-year-old Sevastopol resident accused of committing the murder of his cohabitant, stealing funds from her bank account and unlawfully taking possession of a car (Part 1 of Article 105, paragraph “ d» part 3 of article 158, part 1 of article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the Gagarinsky district established that on March 26, a man in the apartment of his 43-year-old partner struck her several times in the head during an argument. Then, using live, exposed wires, he applied electric shock to the victim until the latter stopped showing signs of life. Unsure of the fatal outcome, he sealed his cohabitant’s mouth with adhesive tape and closed the nasal openings with a clothespin.
After committing the murder, the attacker paid in stores with the deceased’s bank card and illegally drove around in her car. The woman’s body was discovered ten days later in the bathroom by police officers who arrived on a signal from her friends about the unknown disappearance of a citizen. The roommate, who spent all this time in the apartment with the murdered woman, denied any involvement in the crime.— the Investigative Committee reported details.
It is emphasized that the guilt of the suspect is confirmed by a complex of evidence collected by investigators and forensic investigators and the results of the examinations carried out. Moreover, the man had previously been convicted of illegally entering his cohabitant’s apartment.
The criminal investigation has now been completed. Sufficient evidence has been collected regarding the accused. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office in order to approve the indictment and transfer the case to court.
