A resident of Simferopol found himself in the dock on charges of stealing an expensive car

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The prosecutor’s office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a resident of Simferopol. He is charged under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (wrongful taking of a car).

According to investigators, in November 2023, a man, while in the village of Fontany, saw a parked Mercedes car with the engine running. Having opened the car, he left the parking lot and headed towards the city of Simferopol.

During search operations, the specified car was found at the place of residence of the accused— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The criminal case has been transferred to court for consideration on the merits. The thief faces imprisonment for up to 5 years.
