A 38-year-old resident of Simferopol, wanting to sell her jewelry, posted an ad on a popular Internet platform, which immediately found a response.
The buyer came to the meeting with the sum of 100 thousand rubles, previously folded in her wallet, which was given to the victim in exchange for jewelry. After the transaction was completed, the victim discovered that instead of real money, there were banknotes from the Bank of Joke in her wallet. Employees of police department No. 2 “Kyiv” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol established the involvement of a 40-year-old resident of the Rostov region in the commission of fraudulent actions, previously convicted of a similar crime. After the purchase, the attacker handed over the jewelry to a pawnshop and spent the proceeds on her own needs.— the details of the story were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The investigator of the police department No. 2 of the Kiev Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Simferopol opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). The suspect faces a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 5 years.
Currently, the detainee has been chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
