A resident of Simferopol will stand trial for sexual crimes against two schoolgirls

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 34-year-old resident of Simferopol. He is accused of other acts of a sexual nature with the use of violence and threats of murder against two minors under 14 years of age; their rape and video recording for the purpose of producing pornographic materials (clause «b» part 5 of article 132, clause «b» part 5 of article 131, clauses «a», «c» part 2 of art. 242.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The investigative department for the Kyiv region established that late at night on July 27, 2023, a drunk man on Bespalov Street met two 13-year-old schoolgirls and invited them to spend time together. Near the entrance to the dormitory, the attacker attacked one of the friends from behind, putting a key to her throat. Threatening to kill, he committed sex crimes against minors, filming the incident on his mobile phone— reported in Sledkom.

The suspect was promptly detained by law enforcement agencies and, at the request of the investigator, taken into custody, where he is currently being held.

At present, the criminal investigation has been completed and a sufficient evidence base has been collected. Also during the investigation, an assessment was made of the situation in the families where the schoolgirls were raised. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, approving the indictment and sending the case to court.
