She took five million rubles from pensioners.
The Simferopol prosecutor’s office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a local resident. She is accused under CC. 2, 4 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“fraud”).
According to investigators, the accused, together with her accomplices, the criminal case against whom was separated into separate proceedings, stole funds from elderly residents of the region.
The accomplices called citizens, introduced themselves as investigators and misled them by providing false information that their relative had been involved in a traffic accident and that money had to be paid to release him from criminal liability. The accused met with pensioners who transferred their savings to her. Thus, the group members stole more than 5 million rubles from 6 citizens— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The criminal case was sent to the Kiev District Court of Simferopol of the Republic of Crimea. “Courier” faces a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
