A resident of the Belgorod region settled in Sevastopol, but did not want to live honestly
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Sevastopol, the police charged a Belgorod resident with fraud committed on an especially large scale.
An investigator of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs for the Nakhimovsky district of the city of Sevastopol has charged a visiting man who stole more than one million rubles under the pretext of building a residential building. According to investigators, a 39-year-old resident of the Belgorod region, previously convicted of fraud, while in Sevastopol, learned that a 45-year-old local resident was looking for a contractor to build a residential building on a plot of land that belonged to her, and offered his services— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Knowing that he would not fulfill his obligations, the man entered into an agreement with the client and over the course of several months received various amounts from her under the pretext of carrying out preparatory and construction work. To implement the criminal scheme, the attacker created the appearance of construction, but in fact did not fulfill the terms of the contract, and spent the money stolen by deception for his own needs.
Realizing that she had become a victim of a swindler, the victim filed a complaint with the police. The total amount of damage caused was more than one million rubles.
A police investigator charged the man with committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). The investigation is ongoing.
