A resident of the Crimean village of Ruchi decided to “suffer”… for atheism — he publicly insulted the feelings of believers
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia have opened a criminal case against a 35-year-old resident of the Razdolnensky district of the Republic of Crimea, suspected of public actions expressing clear disrespect for society and committed with the aim of insulting the religious feelings of believers (Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It is difficult to say why exactly the resident of the village of Ruchi was annoyed by Orthodoxy… but the man quite consciously posted on his social network page images and comments offensive to Orthodox believers, available to an unlimited number of Internet users. An atheist is not an atheist, but one must be held accountable for such tricks (by the way, the punishment under this article is from a large fine to a year in prison).
The attacker’s actions were stopped by operational officers of the republican departments of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with the force support of the special unit “Thunder” of the Russian Guard. The suspect is currently detained. Investigators of the Razdolnensky Interdistrict Investigation Department carried out urgent investigative actions at his place of residence, seized equipment, as well as other items of interest to the investigative authorities— reported in Sledkom.
The possible involvement of the suspect in the commission of other offenses and crimes is established.
