A resident of the Leninsky district of Crimea was found guilty of high treason

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea has completed the consideration of a criminal case, as a result of which a resident of the Leninsky district A. Dovgan, born in 1988. was found guilty of committing a crime under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — high treason.
The court qualified the actions of the defendant under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (as amended by the Federal Law of July 14, 2022) — high treason, that is, espionage — collecting and storing for the purpose of transferring, as well as transferring to the enemy information that can be used against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea found the defendant guilty of the crime charged and sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 13 years to be served in a maximum security correctional colony. The defendant was also given an additional punishment in the form of restriction of freedom for 1 year 6 months, after serving the main sentence of imprisonmentthe court was told.
The consideration of the criminal case took place in a closed court session, since the case materials contain information constituting a state secret. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
