CrimeaPRESS reports:

A resident of the Saki district was sentenced to 8 years in prison. A 38-year-old man was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal large-scale cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs), Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph “d”, part 4, art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted sale of narcotic drugs, as well as parts of plants containing large amounts of narcotic drugs).

The court found that in July of this year, inside the attic of a country house in one of the rural settlements of the Saki region, the convict equipped greenhouses in which he grew more than 30 hemp plants. The attacker took care of these plants, providing lighting, watering and loosening the soil.

In addition, in the house the man stored about 150 g of parts of hemp plants, and at his place of residence in the city of Evpatoria — more than 1.6 kg of the narcotic drug “cannabis”, which was packaged in polymer bags for further sale— reported the prosecutor’s office.

The illegal actions of the attacker were stopped by employees of the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Saksky”. The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 8 years in prison. The man will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. The court’s verdict did not enter into legal force.
