A resident of the Simferopol region will be tried for attempted murder of a fellow villager
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 48-year-old resident of the Simferopol region. He is accused of attempted murder of an acquaintance, illegal possession of explosives and ammunition for weapons (part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105, part 1 of article 222.1, part 1 of article 223 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the Simferopol region established that a previously convicted resident of the village of Partizanskoye, who had a domestic conflict with a neighbor due to damage to a car, decided to take revenge on him. The attacker dug up a hidden hunting rifle in his yard and on the night of January 29 of this year began to wait for the offender. Having waited for the owner at the threshold, the neighbor fired several shots through the front door and several more in the house. However, he was forced to leave the crime scene because members of the victim’s family came out to hear the shots.
The victim was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, where he received emergency medical care. Investigators, together with police officers, during a search of the defendant’s home, seized gunpowder, as well as homemade cartridges— reported in Sledkom.
The accused was promptly detained and taken into custody. He admitted his guilt. All necessary investigative actions have been completed and examinations have been carried out. The criminal investigation has been completed. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for study, approval of the indictment and sending the case to court.
