Criminal investigation officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Evpatoria detained a suspect of pickpocketing in the resort town.
The visiting attacker committed a number of crimes last summer and fled beyond the peninsula. All this time, investigators continued to search for the suspect. As a result of operational search activities, a previously convicted 31-year-old resident of the Stavropol Territory was detained in the city of Mineralnye Vody. The suspect was involved in thefts in Evpatoria transport, stealing wallets with money totaling more than 40 thousand rubles from two women. The victims filed statements with the police,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Evpatoria initiated criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place.
