A resident of the village of Lenino was sentenced to 17 years in prison for the brutal murder of his sister by arson. According to the Investigative Committee, on February 15 of this year in a private house on st. Gagarin, Lenino village, a drunk man, who had been having conflicts with his 42-year-old sister for a long time, doused her with gasoline, set her on fire with a lighter, after which the flames spread throughout the house. The victim died on the spot from the injuries received. At this time, their parents were in the neighboring rooms, but they were not injured. The minor daughter of the deceased was at school at the time of the tragedy.
The attacker was quickly detained. During a competently structured interrogation by the investigator, a confession was obtained from the man. He confirmed his testimony during an investigative experiment at the crime scene. At the request of the investigator, the court took him into custody. As part of the investigation, all the circumstances of the tragedy were established, all necessary investigative actions and examinations were carried out— reported in Sledkom.
Today, by a court verdict, he was found guilty of murder committed with particular cruelty in a generally dangerous way (clauses “d”, “e”, part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and was sentenced to 17 years 20 days in prison to serve the sentence in a correctional facility maximum security colonies. After his departure, he will also be restricted in his freedom for a period of 1 year 9 months.
