A resonant matter. In Crimea, the court will review the verdict in the case of beating and murder of a resident of Yalta
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On appeal from the Crimean Prosecutor’s Office, it was canceled sentence about the beating and murder of a Yalta resident in the fall of 2022.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic appealed the verdict passed by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea in a criminal case against two residents of the region. The court found them guilty under paragraph “g” of Part 2 of Art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate harm to health), in addition, one of them under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder), part 1 of Art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate harm to health)reports the press service of the supervisory agency.
It was established that on September 5, 2022, the convicts, together with the victim, drank alcoholic beverages in one of the establishments of Yalta. After the men left the establishment in a car belonging to one of the convicts, a conflict arose between them. During the quarrel, one of the attackers, while on Gogol Street in the city of Yalta, beat the victim, inflicting multiple kicks and punches, after which the second defendant delivered several blows.
Seeing that there was a CCTV camera on the street, the men put the victim in the trunk of a Land Cruiser and drove to a deserted area, where one of the defendants stabbed the victim at least 15 times. A few hours later, the convicts took the man to a health care facility, where the latter died from his injuries.
In addition, one of the men was found guilty of beating an acquaintance, which occurred last summer due to personal hostility.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced one of the men to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment, the second to 13 years of imprisonment to be served in a penal colony and a maximum security correctional colony.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea supported the state prosecution in a criminal case charging the defendants under paragraph “g” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), as well as one of them — under Part 1 of Art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate harm to health).
Disagreeing with the verdict, the state prosecutor filed an appeal. Based on the results of its consideration, the court verdict was canceled, the case was sent for a new trial to the court of first instance,” reports the press service of the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
