A series of burglaries were uncovered in Evpatoria

The Yevpatoriya police received a number of similar reports of thefts of property, jewelry and cash from apartments.
An investigative team arrived at the scene of the incident. As a result of a thorough examination by employees of the forensic center, various items were seized at the scene, including shoe prints, which were sent for examination. Thanks to the painstaking work of experts, it was possible to identify the seized evidence with a specific person and establish his involvement in a series of thefts in the city of Evpatoria. As a result, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea immediately established the location of the suspect and, in cooperation with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Yevpatoria, with the force support of the special unit of the Russian Guard, an unemployed 60-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Saki region was detained on suspicion of committing a series of burglaries. — reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
As a result of an urgent search at the suspect’s place of residence, the following were discovered and confiscated: a mobile phone, a laptop, four pairs of shoes, and master keys.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to six years with a fine of up to eighty thousand rubles.
The suspect’s guilt in all three facts was proven through investigation.
The man was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Police officers are working out the involvement of the detainee in committing similar crimes in the region.
