A Sevastopol resident, a participant in the special operation, received a medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree

Every day, in a solemn atmosphere and on the front line, state awards are received by those who have shown the best masculine qualities: bravery, bravery and courage. Among them is Sevastopol serviceman Igor with the call sign “Hottabych”. The hero says that standing shoulder to shoulder with the defenders of the Motherland is a matter of honor for him and a tribute to the memory of the exploits of his ancestors who defended their native land during the Great Patriotic War.

During the Great Patriotic War, my grandfather served in front-line intelligence until 1943, and after that in the main counterintelligence directorate “Smersh”. In 1945, he was assigned to the city of Lviv, where until 1953 he was the head of a destruction battalion, expelling Bandera. The history of my family shows that the work that my grandfather started, I must finish— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the man.

Igor was in the special military operation zone twice: as part of the volunteer special detachment “Bars” he carried out combat missions in the Lugansk People’s Republic and near Soledar in the DPR.

For two months of service, we were on the front line, fighting against reconnaissance and sabotage units. Now I am collecting documents and am determined to return to my comrades for the third timesays Igor.

For the destruction of an enemy sabotage group, Igor was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree. He admits that at the moment of receiving the state award he felt joy and pride for himself and for the fighters who were awarded with him.
