A Sevastopol resident tried to bribe a state traffic inspector. Will remember this incident for a long time
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A Sevastopol resident was convicted of attempting to bribe a police officer.
Employees of a separate traffic police battalion of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Sevastopol stopped a Toyota Camry car driven by a 59-year-old driver. Since a dark-colored film was applied to the front side windows of the foreign car, car inspectors measured the light transmittance. The result of the inspection revealed a non-compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations on the safety of wheeled vehicles, which the police reported to the car owner.
When compiling material about an administrative offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, the driver offered the traffic police inspector money for not bringing him to justice. The citizen was warned about the illegality of his actions and the criminal liability provided for them, but did not abandon his intentions and placed one thousand rubles on the passenger seat of the patrol car— the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol gave details.
Investigative authorities opened a criminal case against the man on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Giving a bribe to an official.” By decision of the court, the violator was sentenced to a fine in the amount of five times the amount offered by him.
