A Sevastopol resident will stand trial for committing a crime against the sexual integrity of a minor

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol completed the investigation of a criminal case against a resident of Sevastopol, accused of other acts of a sexual nature taking advantage of the helpless state of the victim (clause “b”, part 5 of article 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol established that in July 2023, a 56-year-old man, swimming in the sea with an 11-year-old unfamiliar girl in the area of the village. Kacha Sevastopol, committed violent acts of a sexual nature against her.
Subsequently, the girl informed her parents about everything, who passed the information received to law enforcement agencies. Investigators, in collaboration with employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, identified the man who was detained in December 2023– reported in Sledkom.
The defendant was charged and he was taken into custody in the form of detention, where he is being held to this day.
A sufficient evidence base has been collected and the necessary forensic examinations have been carried out. Rehabilitation measures have been taken regarding the minor. The criminal investigation has now been completed. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, signing the indictment and sending the case to court.
