In Sevastopol, police patrol officers detained a visiting man suspected of three thefts from stores. As the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol said, the attacker had previously been prosecuted for theft and robbery.
It was established that a 36-year-old resident of Simferopol, leading an antisocial lifestyle, came to Sevastopol and, having no legal income, stole from local stores. During his visits to retail outlets, he waited for the moment when the sellers were distracted, secretly stole wallets and bags located there from under the counter in the cash register area, and then disappeared. During three such thefts, he managed to steal a total of more than 100 thousand rubles, which the attacker spent on buying clothes, alcohol and food.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the detainee by the investigative department of the Department of Internal Affairs under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”), he faces up to 5 years in prison. The defendant was taken into custody.
