A student section for sports laser tag is opening at KFU
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A high-tech sports laser tag tournament took place at the Crimean Federal University. Based on its results, the first group of students will be formed, which will begin studying in the section in December. This was announced by the head of the “High-tech student sports” project Igor Boyko.
This tournament is the first step towards opening the section. Now we will see the guys’ interest, find out how important, interesting and necessary it is for them. Then we will form the first group. The mechanics are very simple: there are people who have registered for this game, they have a general conversation with a specialist who will be responsible for this area at the university. From this conversation, the first group to study will be selected. Then, after the tournaments, everyone who participates in them will have the opportunity to get into the section and practice, – the press service of the university quotes the head of the “High-Tech Student Sports” project, Igor Boyko.
Eight teams took part in the first sports laser tag tournament. Laser fights took place on the sports ground of the university’s Taurida campus. As Vice-Rector for Innovation and Regional Development of KFU Vitaly Dyatel notes, the idea to develop high-tech sports at the university appeared a year ago.
At that time, we understood that there were new types, but we couldn’t quite call it a sport. Only within a year has it really gained some status as a sport, with more and more young people getting involved. Why is this important specifically for young people? Because this is a good opportunity to spend your leisure time using modern technologies. This is a certain element of team building, because such projects are very important for the development of youth, maintaining youth spirit, unity and, naturally, the university brand, – notes Vitaly Dyatel.
The “High-Tech Student Sports” project is being implemented at the Crimean Federal University as part of the “Priority 2030” strategic academic leadership program.
