A 35-year-old local resident contacted the Saksky Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with a statement about a fire in his car.

The investigative task force immediately arrived at the scene. During the inspection, specialists established that the car had been set on fire. The search measures taken allowed the operatives to identify the suspect. On the same day, the patrol police detained the perpetrator. He turned out to be a 59-year-old local resident. The man admitted his guilt and explained that he threw the cigarette butt into the trunk of the car because he was intoxicated and the vehicle was in his way.— the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea noted.

The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» opened a criminal case on this fact under the signs of a crime provided for in Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Intentional destruction or damage to property». The sanction of the article provides for a maximum punishment of up to 5 years of imprisonment. The man was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation.
