A suspect was detained in Kerch for attempting to sell methadone on a large scale

Employees of the drug control department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Kerch, as a result of operational search activities, detained a 49-year-old local resident suspected of attempting to sell drugs on a large scale.
During the inspection of the attacker’s apartment, police discovered and seized 19 paper parcels containing a white substance. The man admitted that the discovered packages contained a narcotic drug. The suspect said that through a messenger he received the coordinates of a hiding place in the region, from where he took the drug stash. According to the expert opinion, the seized substance with a total weight of 1.81 grams is the synthetic narcotic drug methadone— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
The Investigative Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Kerch has opened a criminal case against the attacker on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30 hours 4 tbsp. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempt at the illegal sale of narcotic drugs, committed using information and telecommunication networks on a large scale, namely, deliberate actions of a person directly aimed at committing a crime, if the crime was not completed due to circumstances beyond the control of this person » The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 20 years. A preventive measure was chosen against the man — detention.
