A suspect was detained in Sevastopol for attempting to sell marijuana on a large scale

A suspect was detained in Sevastopol for illegal trafficking in narcotic drugs of plant origin on a large scale. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Earlier, investigators received information that the man might be involved in drug trafficking by placing hiding places in the city.
As a result of the operational search activities carried out in cooperation with a separate specialized company of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, with the force support of the special unit of the Russian National Guard SOBR, a car was stopped, the passenger of which was a 35-year-old local resident. During a personal search of his belongings, police officers discovered and seized three polymer parcels containing a substance of plant origin. According to the expert’s conclusion, the seized drug is a narcotic drug – “marijuana”, weighing more than 750 grams, which is a large size— said the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
When examining the detainee’s mobile phone, the police found out that the attacker got a job as a pawnbroker in one of the drug markets in the shadow segment of the Internet. He said that he had received a large shipment of drugs for sale and, on the instructions of the curator, had to equip hiding places on the territory of Sevastopol.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph “d”, part 4, art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, he faces up to twenty years in prison. The defendant was taken into custody.
