A suspect was detained in Yalta for attempting to sell a large quantity of drugs.

In Yalta, employees of the drug control department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs established the involvement of a 31-year-old local resident in activities related to drug trafficking.
During a search at the suspect’s place of residence, investigators found and seized 37 packages and 6 polymer bags with a substance of plant origin of a gray-green color with a specific odor, 18 polymer bags with a powdery substance, packaging material and a mobile phone.
According to the expert opinion, the gray-green substance with a specific odor submitted for research is the narcotic drug cannabis (marijuana) with a total weight of 19.98 grams, and the powdery substance with a total weight of 3.12 grams contains a psychotropic substance — amphetamine— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Attempted illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, or their parts containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, on a large scale”). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 10 to 20 years.
