A terrible accident on the Simferopol-Nikolaevka highway killed teenagers riding a moped

On the evening of July 1, around 21:30, an accident occurred on the Simferopol-Nikolaevka highway, in which 15-year-old teenagers died. The accident is as absurd as it is terrible and took two young lives.

The driver of the Land Rover car, born in 1979, moving from Nikolaevka towards Simferopol, near the village of Novozburyevka, Simferopol district, while overtaking a moving vehicle in front in a place where overtaking is allowed, drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a moped » Honda Dio”, which was moving towards with the headlights off, driven by a minor, born in 2008. As a result of an accident, the driver and passenger of a moped, born in 2008, died— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.

Police officers were at the scene of the accident. The fact of the accident is being investigated, all the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

In order to coordinate the actions of law enforcement agencies, the deputy prosecutor of the Simferopol region, Elchin Kuliev, went to the scene.

During the inspection, all the circumstances of the incident will be established, including in which the minor gained access to the vehicle, an assessment will be made of the fulfillment of the requirements of the legislation on road safety, as well as in the field of neglect and prevention of juvenile delinquency— reported in the republican prosecutor’s office.

The materials of the pre-investigation check have already been transferred to the Investigative Committee. Currently, the investigating authority has initiated and is investigating a criminal case under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of two persons through negligence).
