A training session for the Omega search and rescue unit took place in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Today, the head of the Omega search and rescue unit of the Sevastopol Rescue Service, Sergei Mochkov, conducted a training session on operating a small vessel in difficult weather conditions. The main goal of the event was to improve the tactics of the duty shift when receiving a signal to exit.
The exercises took place in several stages. First was the preparation of watercraft and life-saving equipment, including an inflatable boat and specialized suits. The team then arrived at the designated area, where the boat was anchored in a simulated storm. Rescuers dropped an inflatable boat, loaded it with the necessary equipment, including an immobilizing stretcher, the so-called spinal shield, and went to the shore to evacuate the victim. After immobilization, the victim was transported by boat back to the boat and transferred to a safe place for further medical care.— note the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.
During the exercises, special attention was paid to labor protection and the use of personal protective equipment.
The participants repeated the work with the primary means of rescue on water, namely: a lifebuoy and Alexandrov’s end.
All tasks assigned before the shift were successfully completed. The shortcomings and shortcomings identified during the training session were taken into account, analyzed and corrected, which made it possible to achieve the planned result. I am confident that the skills acquired and consolidated will be useful in performing real-life tasks in the future— summed up the head of the Omega search and rescue unit, Sergei Mochkov.
The training session, experts note, became an important stage in the training of rescuers, strengthening their skills and confidence in acting in emergency situations on the water.
