The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, took part in a collective iftar — an evening meal breaking the fast in honor of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Addressing those present, Sergei Aksyonov emphasized that interfaith and interethnic peace and harmony in Crimea are preserved and thriving.
I think that the main achievement of the Crimeans is that we were able to maintain universal mutual respect. We understand and appreciate the customs and traditions of all peoples living on the peninsula. In fact, today Russian Crimea can show everyone an example of how to competently strengthen and maintain interethnic peace and harmony— the Head of the Republic expressed his opinion.
He noted that this became possible thanks to the joint work carried out by authorities, the clergy, and public organizations. According to Sergei Aksenov, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol plays a large role in strengthening the traditions of peace in the republic.
Thanks to all those with whom we have repeatedly gone through serious trials: the Mufti of the Muslims of Crimea, Haji Emirali Efendi, activists and social activists. Our interethnic and interfaith peace is your merit. Special gratitude to the Muslims of Crimea participating in the special military operation, our defenders. We know that we can count on them and rely on themsaid the Head of Crimea.
Sergei Aksyonov also emphasized that today’s evening meal is a tribute to the customs and culture of the Crimean Tatar people and all Muslims.
The fact that we have all gathered here opens up new opportunities for all of us and demonstrates our trust in each other. Only by trusting and respecting each other can we help our Motherland move forward. And our consolidation around the President and his decisions will help Crimea and Russia to develop systematically, achieve any goals and objectives, and live in peace and security. Our strength is in our unity,” added the Head of Crimea.
In turn, the Mufti of Crimean Muslims, Haji Emirali Ablaev, thanked the Head of the Republic for organizing iftar in the month of Ramadan, which has already become a good tradition.
Over the past ten years, interethnic and interfaith harmony in Crimea has reached great heights. Today we live and exist all together, we respect each other. We need to do everything to preserve this, to preserve the bridge built between Muslims and Slavssaid the Mufti of the Muslims of Crimea.
Haji Emirali Ablaev also expressed gratitude to the soldiers who participate in the military defense, thereby protecting civilians, and called on everyone to continue to provide all possible assistance to the defenders.
