In Yevpatoriya, a resident of the Moscow Region will appear in court on charges of robbery. According to investigators, in May of this year, the man attempted to steal property from a car parked in the yard of an apartment building at night.
The unlawful actions of the accused were discovered by the owner of the car, who tried to stop them. However, the attacker attacked the victim and, threatening with a knife, took the victim’s mobile phone, fleeing the scene of the crime— the Crimean prosecutor’s office reported.
The man was promptly detained by law enforcement officers.
With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Yevpatoria City Court for consideration on the merits. Punishment under Part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery) is up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
