A young man from Feodosia is convicted of the brutal murder of a pensioner

The evidence collected by the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol was recognized by the court as sufficient to convict a 19-year-old resident of Feodosia. He was found guilty of the murder of a 73-year-old woman and the theft of her property (Part 1 of Article 105, paragraphs “c, d”, Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigation department for the city of Feodosia and the court established that in the early morning of June 23 of this year, a young man tried to steal metal sheets from the roof of an abandoned farm building near the Simferopol highway in Feodosia. An elderly woman passing by, returning from the cemetery, reprimanded him and threatened him with the police. The young man, afraid of responsibility, took a nail puller he had brought with him and began to pursue the pensioner. Having caught up with a resident of Feodosia, he hit her on the head with a metal object, dragged her unconscious into an abandoned building, where he struck her at least 22 times with a brick. The attacker then stole the deceased’s mobile phone and fled.,” the Investigative Committee provided details.
The identity of the attacker and his location were established in cooperation with colleagues from the regional criminal investigation unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea.
The day before, based on the evidence collected by the investigation, the court sentenced the young man to 9 years and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security correctional colony.
