About 18 thousand employees took part in the month of labor protection in Sevastopol

From March 15 to April 28, a month on labor protection was held in Sevastopol. Since 2003, April 28 has been celebrated as World Day for Safety at Work, or World Day for Safety and Health at Work. In 2023, the theme of the holiday was «Safe and healthy working environment — a fundamental principle and right in the world of work.»

Since 2014, a number of events have been held in Sevastopol as part of the celebration of Labor Protection Day. This year, a month on labor protection was held, about 18 thousand employees from 276 organizations of the city of Sevastopol took part in it— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Vice-Governor Alexander Kulagin.

Within the framework of the month, seminars and webinars were held in Sevastopol on the application of a new procedure for training in labor protection, occupational risk assessment, an annual meeting on general issues of labor protection for senior students of the Polytechnic Institute of Sevastopol State University was held.

In addition, traditional city-wide competitions on labor protection were organized and held. This is a competition of children’s drawings and competitions among the enterprises of the city — the best corner for labor protection and the best specialist in labor protection. Their goal is to introduce children and adolescents to safety in any workplace.— said the head of the department of conditions and labor protection of the department of labor and social protection of the population Dmitry Troyan.

The participants of the competition were pupils, pupils, students of general education, out-of-school educational institutions, orphanages and students of vocational educational institutions of the city. More than 50 institutions submitted more than 550 works to the competition — this is a record number.

In the course of summing up the results, the winners of citywide labor protection competitions were also awarded.

Vodokanal became the winner in the online competition among enterprises, organizations, institutions of the city «The best corner for labor protection». Elena Tikhomirova, a labor protection specialist at Vodokanal, won the first place in the city-wide competition “The Best Occupational Safety Specialist”.

Letters of thanks from the Director of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population noted the staff of the training center represented by Director Alexei Arantsev, as well as the Chief Technical Labor Inspector of the Sevastopol Association of Trade Union Organizations Irina Galtsova, the Chief Occupational Safety Specialist of the City Infectious Diseases Hospital Ella Volkova.
