About 2,000 children took part in the football tournament «Leather Ball» in Sevastopol

We started holding the tournament in Sevastopol in 2019. And in just five years, the number of participants has grown significantly. If in 2019 there were 300 young football players, then this year almost 2,000 boys and girls aged 10 to 15 competed in the tournament for the right to become the best of the best. 105 children’s teams is a worthy result, which we are not going to stop at— notes the head of the department for youth and sports, Sergei Reznichenko.

Tournament participants were awarded for personal merit and collective success in three age categories.

Places among boys’ teams 2008-2009 births in the school division were distributed as follows:

1st place — gymnasium No. 10;
2nd place — Ecotech +;
3rd place — SevPKU «Kadetka».

Among boys 2010-2011 births in the school division:

1st place — gymnasium No. 24;
2nd place — gymnasium No. 1;
3rd place — school number 11.

Among boys 2012-2013 births in the school division:

1st place — school number 49;
2nd place — school number 57;
3rd place — school number 6.

Among boys 2008-2009 births in club division:

1st place — CYFK «Sevastopol»;
2nd place — sports school No. 3 «Dynamo»;
3rd place — sports school No. 3 «Dynamo».

Among boys 2010-2011 births in club division:

1st place — CYFK «Sevastopol»;
2nd place — sports school No. 3 «Dynamo»;
3rd place — sports school No. 3 «Dynamo».

1st place — FC Chernomorets;
2nd place — CYFK «Sevastopol»;
3rd place — school number 49.

Among girls 2008-2009 births in the school division:

2nd place — school number 4;
3rd place — school number 11.

Among girls 2010-2011 births in the school division:

1st place — gymnasium No. 10;
2nd place — school number 11;
3rd place — school number 57.

Among girls 2012-2013 births in the school division:

1st place — school number 57;
2nd place — gymnasium No. 10;
3rd place — school number 25.

The children were presented with cups, letters of thanks and medals. The winners will represent Sevastopol at the All-Russian stage.

The Leather Ball is the largest all-Russian football competition among children’s teams, which has become a springboard for big football for many famous Soviet and Russian football players. Teams of sports, secondary schools, yard teams, football clubs participate in the tournament.

The event was held with the aim of attracting students to a healthy lifestyle, involving children in active physical education and sports, which contributes to the implementation of the regional project «Sport is the norm of life» of the national project «Demography».
