About 40 houses are currently flooded in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, held a meeting of the commission for the prevention and response to emergency situations due to the temporary shutdown of hydroelectric power plants and unfavorable weather conditions. Deputy governors, government members, heads of operational and utility services discussed the current situation in the city.
At the moment, about 40 houses are flooded, the situation is under the control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Sevastopol Rescue Service.
Responsible services carried out cleaning of river beds in advance, this made it possible to avoid larger-scale flooding. Now, according to preliminary information, about 40 residential buildings are flooded. People were evacuated from some houses; they refused centralized accommodation in temporary centers and settled with relatives. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the rescue service continue door-to-door canvassing and monitoring the situation,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Razvozhaev.
Currently, water supply is cut off in most areas of the city. Previously, a decision was made to temporarily shut down the city’s waterworks — this measure is necessary to preserve the technological equipment. During this time, the required volume of water will be supplied to the third hydroelectric complex from the water intake on the Belbek River.
The damage assessment commission, on behalf of the governor, will be headed by First Deputy Alexey Parikin. As soon as the water recedes, municipal commissions will quickly assess the extent of damage. Payments of up to 100 thousand rubles will be provided. Mikhail Razvozhaev gave instructions to provide for the allocation of appropriate funds from the reserve fund. Residents do not need to submit an application through State Services; Local municipalities organize work with door-to-door visits.
The head of the city also instructed to ensure special control over the high-pressure gas pipeline across the Chernaya River, which provides gas supply to residents in the village of Rodnoye.
Meteorologists forecast sub-zero temperatures this weekend. The governor instructed to ensure the readiness of special equipment for carrying out anti-icing measures, and also, if necessary, to mobilize equipment, contractors and builders.
