The 51-year-old driver of the Skoda car, in violation of the traffic rules, at a prohibiting traffic light, passed through an adjustable pedestrian crossing, on which pedestrians had already begun to move. During the prohibited maneuver, the offender allowed a collision with one of the pedestrians — a teenager, presumably 12 years old. After the accident, the driver did not stop to help the injured child, but turned into the nearest yard, parked the car and tried to leave. Eyewitnesses of the incident did not allow him to escape: caring Sevastopol residents held the offender until the arrival of the traffic police crew and called an ambulance to the victim— told the details in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
A minor pedestrian was hospitalized in a children’s medical facility. It was determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
