Accused of supplying low-quality complexes for the Crimean Bridge was released from pre-trial detention center

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The former head of the maritime department of the Russian National Guard, Sergei Volkov, who is accused of involvement in the supply of low-quality radar systems to protect the Crimean Bridge from drones, was released from pre-trial detention center under house arrest. About it TASS his lawyer Vladimir Andrusenko said.

My client Volkov’s preventive measure in the form of detention has been changed to house arrestsaid the lawyer.

A TASS correspondent from the hall of the Second Western District Military Court, where the case is being heard, reported that Volkov did not admit guilt.

I don’t consider myself guilty, I acted in accordance with the established procedure and legislation,” he said, promising to speak later in more detail about the circumstances of the case.

It was previously reported that the case of Volkov, accused under Part 3 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (excess of authority resulting in grave consequences), completed.

As stated in the case materials, based on the results of the auction, a government contract was concluded between the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rostov-on-Don Research Institute of Radio Communications (RNIIRS) and the Russian National Guard for a total amount of 395 million 486 thousand 196 rubles. It provided for the supply of two radar systems to combat UAVs, which could be used, among other things, to protect the Crimean Bridge. At the same time, during the implementation of the agreement, it turned out that the performance characteristics of this equipment did not allow them to successfully solve problems in the fight against unmanned aerial vehicles. Nevertheless, Volkov provided the conditions for the adoption of this equipment. He has been charged with abuse of power resulting in grave consequences. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

The colonel does not admit guilt. According to his lawyer, the Russian Guard purchased the complexes that were offered by the manufacturer, which is a monopolist in the supply of products of this type
