Activists in Sevastopol launched a countdown to the World Youth Festival
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On November 21, thematic events dedicated to the round date were held in all regions of Russia — exactly 100 days left before the start of the World Youth Festival. This largest event of 2024 will unite 20 thousand people from all over the world.
About 300 people gathered on the square in front of Sevastopol State University — schoolchildren, students, activists and volunteers, representatives of non-profit youth organizations. Together they unfurled a large flag of the Russian Federation and lined up in the symbolic number 100 in the colors of the World Youth Festival 2024.
We celebrated 100 days before the World Youth Festival — the point that will gather all the wealth not only of our country, but also of foreign participating states. We stretched the Russian flag to fantastic sizes — 30 by 20 meters to show how much we are looking forward to the festival– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes flash mob participant Mark Slobodenyak.
About 100 young people from Sevastopol will attend the festival, which will take place from March 1 to March 7, 2024 on the federal territory of Sirius. The event will bring together young entrepreneurs and scientists, journalists, programmers, cultural and artistic figures, leaders of volunteer and charitable organizations. For the first time in the history of the festival movement, one thousand teenagers aged 14 to 17 years will also participate — 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad.
Participation in the World Youth Festival is a great opportunity to meet talented people from all over the world, exchange experiences and find areas of professional growth. Our youth know for sure that despite differences in communication, culture and customs, there are many things that unite us — the desire to become better and together make the world around us more comfortable every day– notes the head of the department for youth affairs of Sevastopol Marina Slonchenko.
To become a participant in the festival, you must submit an application before December 1 on the website fest2024.com and attach your portfolio. Participants will need to write an essay about what meaning of the festival is closer to them: “Let’s save the family in the name of children and peace”, “Responsibility for the fate of the world”, “Multinational unity”, “Life, dignity and justice”, “Mutual assistance and mercy”, “A world of opportunities for everyone”, “We are together with Russia”. Participants who successfully complete the first stage will then have to attach a video card to their application.
Let us remind you that after the events of the festival on the federal territory of Sirius, foreign participants will visit 30 regions and see their regional programs. Sevastopol will host the regional program “We are back in Russia” and will demonstrate the region’s achievements over the years since returning to its native harbor.
