Viktoria Kashlyakova, the head of the We Are Together — Sevastopol volunteer headquarters, spoke live about the Wish Tree campaign, the collection of New Year’s gifts for participants in the special operation, and master classes that take place at the headquarters. The broadcast took place in the official group of the Government of Sevastopol in the social network VKontakte. For the third year in a row, the city has been hosting the New Year’s event «Christmas Tree of Desires», which is traditionally opened by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev. From the Christmas tree located at the headquarters, anyone can take a ball with a childish desire and fulfill it.
In our case, these are children who have health limitations, orphans, children whose parents take part in a special military operation, families with many children. Initially, there were 65 wishes on the tree, today there are 110 wishes. On the third day of the action, there were practically no balls left on the Christmas tree, one of the entrepreneurs immediately removed according to wishes. Sevastopol residents actively participate, remove desires and fulfill them , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Victoria Kashlyakova.
Volunteers also help to collect gifts for the holiday and for the participants in the special operation. 15-25 December parcels were sent to the servicemen. The action was called «New Year’s gift to a soldier.»
We collected not only sweet gifts, but also letters. A lot of schools joined the action, letters and postcards were brought in whole boxes. Thanks to the entrepreneurs, they also delivered 150 kg of apples to the guys. As part of this action, 25 cubic meters of humanitarian aid were transferred, — emphasizes the head of the volunteer headquarters.
Volunteers also donate help to military hospitals — sweets, fruits, medicines, clothes, books.
The more gifts we give, even if they are small, but individual and prepared with soul, the more we will give kindness and New Year’s mood to the guys who protect us. The collection of humanitarian aid takes place on Lenin, 39. The greatest need now is for food, warm clothes and socks. We continue to collect yarn — we already have about 100 needlewomen who make knitted socks, knee pads, elbow pads and belts. At one time they can bring 20 pairs of knitted socks, and in each pair they can put a note with wishes, an icon or coffee. On the basis of the warehouse, which our entrepreneurs will provide us with, we plan to open a workshop for knitting camouflage nets in the near future , — said Victoria Kashlyakova.
The photo exhibition will tell about the work of volunteers and its results for the 2022 year. It is planned to be placed on the windows of the headquarters.
Various areas of work are implemented on the basis of the headquarters — project activities, grant support, master classes in recycling, basic military training «Rokot», first aid courses, master classes in drawing for children from the liberated territories, says the head of the volunteer headquarters.
