After major renovations, a park opened near the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On the completion of the overhaul of the park on the Central Hill (near the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul) reported Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

Many Sevastopol residents remember what it looked like before work began: broken asphalt, old benches, lack of lighting and destroyed columns at the entrance.

Now the space has been transformed. The work was carried out according to the design of architects and students of the Institute of Urban Development of SevSU. By the way, this project won bronze at the All-Russian Architectural Heritage Festival. The task was to restore and update the square without changing its appearance, leaving an organic combination with the temple, neighboring buildings and the architecture of the Central City Hillsaid Razvozhaev.

According to the head of the city, a stable concrete surface was installed in the park, and travertine stone was laid on it (in quality and color it goes well with Inkerman stone).

Travertine is being used in our city for the first time; the architects assured that it would “age” beautifully, giving the square its individuality. Water outlets were installed in the park and drainage systems were created, lighting and video cameras were installed, comfortable benches and trash cans were installed, and the lawn was seeded. Columns made of Inkerman stone that were at the entrance were completely restored using archival materialsnoted the governor of Sevastopol.

As for the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul itself, its restoration is planned for 2025.
