After major renovations, the historical center of Alupka was opened
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The improvement of the historical center of Alupka has become a striking example of interaction between government and business, when allocated federal funds under the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry” create comfortable conditions for recreation and preserve the historical value of the city, which is especially valuable. A lot of work has been done. This year Alupka will become a tourist discovery for guests and residents of Crimea, and we are pleased to invite you to visit this revived corner of the Southern Coast of Crimea and get acquainted with its sights. I am sure that the residents of Alupka themselves are happy about such transformations, because the additional tourist flow will increase economic indicators not only in tourism, but also in related industries, – the press service of the Yalta administration quotes the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Ganziy.
As part of the reconstruction of the Old Town, the facades of buildings were decorated in the same style, navigation signs were installed, recreation areas were organized, and the drinking fountain from 1847 was returned to its original place. The first stage involved the reconstruction of a historical pedestrian route with a length of about 1 km, including Amet-Khan Sultan Street, the square near the Lenin monument, part of Frunze Street and the “108 steps” staircase.
“Old Town” won the All-Russian competition for the best projects, held as part of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”. 250 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget for major repairs. We have another point of attraction for our guests. Now, walking through the historical part of Alupka, you find yourself in a special atmosphere that the famous architect Nikolai Petrovich Krasnov once gave to the city. I thank everyone involved for implementing such wonderful projects. We continue to transform our hometownnotes Konstantin Shimanovsky.
The project involved the unification of tourist display objects into a single architectural and cultural space within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”. Within its framework, work was carried out on laying about 6 thousand square meters of paving stones, water supply and sewerage pipes were laid, 2 buildings were dismantled (an agreement was reached with the owners to exchange their apartments for similar ones in size anywhere in the municipality. Now they have apartments in one of the new buildings in Yalta) opposite the monument to Amet Khan Sultan, a stage was installed, seating areas were placed, benches were installed, lighting lamps were replaced and restored, navigation was made — signs, facades to the same style, signs were replaced. 108 steps of the staircase were restored — not just replaced, but each step was taken out, cleaned, and laid with new concrete mortar. On Amet Khan Street, the retaining wall that collapsed during the emergency in November 2023 was restored (25 million rubles were allocated from the municipal budget for this), fences were installed everywhere along the street. Lenin.
An ancient drinking fountain from 1847 was also returned to Amet Han Sultan Street. It was discovered by chance in one of the private gardens. How he got there is unknown, but now he has returned to his historical place, where there is a photo zone.
The new, landscaped, comfortable space has become a real center of attraction for residents and guests of Alupka, and the murals deserve special attention. Artists from not only Yalta, but also Simferopol, Kerch, Rostov-on-Don, and the Perm Territory joined in the design of the historical part of the city. Entrepreneurs tidied up facades and signs, installed patterned trims and address notices.
The aesthetic appearance of the facades of buildings located within the boundaries of the project began to be considered at the start, because tourists should feel like they are in a fairy tale here, and local residents should live in this fairy tale. I think we succeeded. We were eagerly awaiting the final point, and now we can say for sure that our beautiful Alupka diamond has received a worthy setting! Of course, everything became possible thanks to the support of the Head of the Republic Sergei Valerievich Aksenov and the federal center! Together we made a wonderful objectsays the head of the administration, Yanina Pavlenko, and invites you to visit Alupka and take a walk through its historical center.
