Agrotechnological Academy of the Crimean Federal University celebrated its 100th anniversary
CrimeaPRESS reports:
One of the oldest universities of the peninsula — Agrotechnological Academy of KFU — celebrated 100-year anniversary.
Over the years, thousands of specialists have graduated and work selflessly in the agricultural sector. An important task of our academy is to preserve traditions and continuity of generations. Today we have many graduates of different years visiting us; some of them graduated more than half a century ago. It is very valuable that they can share their experience and knowledge with today’s students and teachers , — the press service of the university quotes Vladimir Lemeshchenko, director of the KFU structural unit.
The solemn celebration was attended by teachers, students and graduates of the Academy, as well as representatives of the Council of Ministers of Crimea and the administration of the city of Simferopol. Vocal and dance groups of the university performed at the concert, outstanding teachers and employees of the academy were awarded. We also had an excursion to the Museum of the History of Agrarian Education and the History of the Agroindustrial Complex of Crimea.
The training of specialists with higher education in the agricultural profile in the Crimea began at the Agrarian Faculty of the Taurida University, established in 1918 year. In 100 year it was transformed into the Crimean Higher Institute of Agricultural Regions, and from 1923 — to the Crimean Institute of Special Cultures.
Today, the Agrotechnological Academy Institute is a structural subdivision of the Crimean Federal University and graduates specialists from four faculties: agronomy, landscape gardening and forestry, veterinary medicine, land management and geodesy, as well as mechanization of production and technology for processing agricultural products.
