The Russian Ministry of Defense released footage of patrolling the Black Sea waters near the Crimean Peninsula by crews of Mi-8 and Ka-29 helicopters of the Black Sea Fleet.
Helicopters from the duty forces of the naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet are daily involved in patrolling the Black Sea in areas adjacent to the coast of Crimea. Pilots, in collaboration with the crews of warships and coastal observation posts, search for unmanned boats and high-speed boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy does not abandon attempts to use them to attack fleet bases and civilian ships— told to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is emphasized that the Black Sea aviators have already destroyed many targets that posed a direct threat to shipping in the Black Sea.
While carrying out patrol missions, crews also improve their skills in using standard helicopter weapons: at naval training grounds, pilots regularly train to destroy high-speed, small-sized sea targets with fire from a heavy machine gun or unguided aircraft missiles.
