Ak Bars: Project 23900 universal «paratroopers» to be completed in Crimea

Universal landing ships (UDC), project 23900 “Ivan Rogov” and “Mitrofan Moskalenko” will be completed at the site of their laying — in Crimea at the shipyard named after B. E. Butoma. This was reported by TASS Head of the Ak Bars shipbuilding corporation Renat Mistakhov following the results of the International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS) Fleet-2024.

The location of the completion will definitely not change, — he said, answering the question whether the location of their completion could change due to the closure of the Black Sea straits for ships. — INAll technological work has already been launched. We are on schedule for construction. There are no factors that could hold back the construction of Project 23900 ships. Everything is going according to plan.

According to Mistakhov, “their construction is a priority for us, taking into account the load, jobs and understanding of the development prospects of the plant.”

A large number of people work there, and other types of work appear: hull work, outfitting, painting and insulation. We are starting to lay out certain systems, — he added.

Two Project 23900 UDCs were laid down in Kerch on July 20, 2020. According to open media, each of the ships of the project will be capable of transporting up to 1,000 marines, up to 75 units of military equipment, helicopters and landing craft.
