Alexander Lukashenko can come to Crimea, but doesn’t want to yet
CrimeaPRESS reports:
To Crimea? This is more of a question from a journalist. If I need to go, I’ll go, I’m a determined person. But what need do I have today or yesterday [была] go to Crimea?he said in an interview «Izvestia».
Lukashenko noted that from the point of view of the “so-called international community,” the issue has not been legally resolved completely.
But Russia doesn’t care about this, and I would do the same, — he added.
Crimea and Sevastopol returned to Russia after a referendum held in March 2014 against the backdrop of a coup in Ukraine. More than 80% of residents of the peninsula who had the right to vote took part in it; 96.7% of residents of Crimea and 95.6% of Sevastopol residents spoke in favor of reunification with Russia. On March 18, 2014, the President of Russia signed an agreement on the admission of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation, and on March 21, the document was ratified by the Federal Assembly.
