The Tauric Chersonesus Museum-Reserve strives to be interesting and useful for the widest range of visitors, so various excursion routes appear here and special classes are held for schoolchildren. One of the updated interactive programs is dedicated to the outstanding ruler and commander in Russian history, from whose birthday more than 413 years old.
From February 1 2023 Tauric Chersonesus invites children to a fascinating interactive tour «The Legend of Medieval Rus’ — Alexander Nevskiy«. In just 30 minutes, guests will learn about the life of the great commander, the impact of his victories on development and formation of our country and make sure that there is time for feat and heroism at any age. Divided into two teams, the guys will complete seven different tasks. They will help schoolchildren learn about the childhood and adolescence of the prince, about his first military campaign and the Battle of the Neva, about the domestic and foreign policy of the young ruler. Young researchers will study the structure of Veliky Novgorod, see a map of Rus’ and neighboring states, make a trip to the Golden Horde , — the press service of the Tauric Chersonese Museum-Reserve notes.
Guests of the museum-reserve will visit the «medieval library», where they will be told about the language spoken and written by Alexander Nevsky , as well as about Cyril and Methodius — the creators of the Slavic alphabet . Then the students will try to write different forms of letters and numbers in Cyrillic and Glagolitic. For each correctly completed task, the teams will receive an element of the combat attire of a warrior — a comrade-in-arms of Alexander Nevsky. The guys who managed to collect the largest number of weapons components will increase the chances of winning the final — the reconstruction of the battle on Lake Peipus.
