On May 20, the All-Russian action «Night of Museums» will be held in Sevastopol. Residents and guests of the city will be able to visit museums, exhibitions, interactive platforms, master classes, concerts, excursions and other events within the walls of cultural institutions and outdoor areas.
This year the theme of the action is “History and Stories”. In Sevastopol, we timed all events to celebrate the 240th anniversary of the founding of the city. It is planned that six museums will take part in the action and eight locations will be involved, where visitors can learn about the history of the city, take part in master classes and quizzes— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the department of culture, Angela Sumakova.
The main events of the «Night of Museums-2023» action in Sevastopol:
1. Museum-reserve of the heroic defense and liberation of Sevastopol.
From 17:00 to 22:00. Entrance for visitors until 21:30.
Malakhov Kurgan will become the largest site. Interactive points and thematic zones with the participation of reenactors dedicated to the periods of the Crimean and Great Patriotic Wars will be deployed on the territory of the memorial complex, as well as a concert program with the participation of creative teams of the Korabel cultural complex.
For everyone there will be guided tours of the Diorama «Assault on the Sapun Mountains on May 7, 1944».

2. State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve Tauric Chersonesos (Ancient St., 1).
From 19:00 May 20 to 01:00 May 21. Entrance for visitors until 00:00.
Guests will be able to see theatrical performances, master classes, immersive street performances and much more.
For the first time, items from the funds of the Stone Grave Museum-Reserve (Zaporozhye region) will be presented.

3. Sevastopol Art Museum. M. P. Kroshitsky (pr. General Ostryakova, 70).
From 18:00 to 23:00. Entrance for visitors until 22:30.
Museum staff prepared a cultural and educational program for visitors. There will be an exhibition and an author’s tour dedicated to the day of the founding of Sevastopol, master classes.

4. Museum of the Black Sea Fleet (branch of the Central Naval Museum named after Emperor Peter the Great of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation), st. Lenina, 11.
From 18:00 to 22:00. Entrance for visitors until 21:00.
Especially for this action, an exhibition was prepared dedicated to the 205th anniversary of the birth of General E. I. Totleben “Under the leadership of Totleben, we did in a day what we could not do in a year!” Visitors will also be able to see the permanent exhibition.
5. Russian State Art Gallery (Portovaya st., 17).
From 18:00 to 21:00. Entrance for visitors until 20:30.
Art critics have prepared a program “Magnificent city. Premonition”, which will include mini-lectures and quizzes.

6. Museum «Underground Sevastopol» (ANO TKR «Ravelin»), pl. Suvorov (Lenin St., 52).
From 19:00 to 21:00.
Visitors are offered free admission to the museum with an audio guide. Also, guests can take part in the immersion excursion «Immersion».
7. Retrocinema «Ukraine».
From 21:00 to 23:00.
The retro cinema will show the historical and biographical films Admiral Ushakov and Admiral Nakhimov.
