In Sevastopol, the All-Russian action «Rays of Victory» was held for the third time. The Museum-Reserve, together with the My History Foundation, organized a thematic program of events.
As a tribute to those who, at the cost of their lives, gave us a peaceful sky and a happy childhood to their descendants, this year the Rays of Victory lit up the sky over Chersonese. This is our common history, our memory, an example of valor, courage, selflessness and heroism of soldiers of all nationalities who won a crushing victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the Department of Culture Irina Romanets.
As part of the action, the military band of the Sevastopol Regiment of the Russian Guard under the direction of the head of the orchestra, military conductor, Honored Artist of the city, Major Valentin Taev, performed for museum visitors. Throughout the evening, songs about the Great Patriotic War and contemporary compositions sounded in Chersonese.
We, as residents of the Hero City, always remember and will remember how hard it was for our grandparents to win the Victory. Such actions are another opportunity to say thank you, preserve memory and set an example for the younger generation. The hosts of the concert also spoke about the exploits of the Sevastopol residents who were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. The author of the concert program was the head of the Sevastopol House of Officers of the Black Sea Fleet, Honored Cultural Worker of the city Vladimir Piskaykin.
Recall that for the first time the action «Rays of Victory» was held in Sevastopol in 2020 year. Then the searchlights illuminated the sky of the city for minutes before the start of the salute in honor of 75 — anniversary of the Victory. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of implementing the project in other parts of the country — and 22 June 2021 of the year «Rays of Victory» soared into the sky already in 06 hero cities and cities of the military glory.
