All-Russian campaign “Be sure! Be healthy!”: Sevastopol is among the leaders in terms of the number of tested blood pressure monitors
CrimeaPRESS reports:
As a result of the campaign, Sevastopol entered the top 5 regions where the largest number of blood pressure measuring devices was tested. This year, the specialists of the FBU «Sevastopol CSM» gave a conclusion on the performance of 1232 tonometers. In Sevastopol, the All-Russian action “Be sure! Be healthy!” organized by Rosstandart. For three days, specialists of the FBU «Sevastopol CSM» checked household blood pressure monitors free of charge. A total of 1232 devices were tested, of which almost 11% of the tonometers turned out to be unusable.
The campaign is held for the third time. In the first year, we checked blood pressure monitors for only one day, but, seeing how much this service is in demand, the leadership of Rosstandart decided to receive citizens for three days. Accordingly, we were able to give an opinion to a much larger number of devices. By the way, statistics show that every year the number of tonometers unsuitable for use is decreasing. Perhaps this is also facilitated by the fact that during the action our specialists give recommendations on how to use the devices correctly in order to extend their service life.— quotes the press service of the director of the «Sevastopol CSM» Natalia Krivenko.
So, in the first year of the action, 231 tonometers were accepted for verification, of which 41 turned out to be inaccurate — this is about 18% of the devices. Last year, out of 1,215 devices tested, 14% of the total number of tested blood pressure monitors produced an error in measurements. During this action, the specialists of the Sevastopol CSM accepted 1232 household blood pressure monitors for verification, of which 135 devices turned out to be inaccurate — this is less than 11%.
Recall, the action «Be sure! Be healthy!» starts annually on the eve of World Healthy Day. This year, Rosstandart specialists in all regions of our country checked the performance and accuracy of readings 35 449 tonometers for measuring blood pressure, which was an absolute record number for all the years of the action.
The leaders in terms of the number of tested devices are the centers of standardization and metrology of Rosstandart in the Republic of Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov and Tomsk regions, as well as in Sevastopol. This year, the geography of the action has expanded — for the first time during the project, blood pressure meters were checked in almost 150 settlements in Russia.
It should be noted that of the total number of tonometers tested this year, more than 10% turned out to be unsuitable for further operation — 3,987 devices. The main reason for the rejection of the tonometer is the excess of the permissible error in measurements, as well as technical malfunctions of the device.
