All-Russian day of walking in Sevastopol. Let's go?

On October 1, Sevastopol will host the All-Russian Day of Walking. Everyone can take part in the event, regardless of age, gender and level of physical fitness. Routes are laid out in such a way that anyone can cope with them. Every year more than 12 million people from 26 countries participate in the International Day of Walking. In Russia this year, about 50 regions, including Sevastopol, have already announced their desire to hold a sports festival.

The main goal of the event is to popularize walking as the most natural and affordable type of physical activity, as well as to promote physical culture and a healthy lifestyle, — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the department for youth affairs and sports of Sergei Reznichenko.

In Sevastopol, the All-Russian Walking Day will be held at seven sites:

  • Victory Park — the area of ​​​​the monument to St. George the Victorious;
  • Square BRU named after Gorky in Balaklava; 50
  • Square 60-anniversary of the October Revolution in Inkerman; Zhidilova, 1; 150
  • open-type sports and recreation complex on the street. Kosareva, 12;
  • open type sports and recreation complex on st. Lebedya, 26;
  • open type sports and recreation complex in the village of Orlinom , st. Sunny, 11.

The grand opening of the event and an organized warm-up under the guidance of a fitness trainer is scheduled for : . Start at 00: 11.

The event is organized by the Russian Olympic Committee together with the Department of Youth and Sports and the Olympic Council of Sevastopol.

Recall that the All-Russian Walking Day is held as part of the ROC program «Olympic Country» and is part of the International Walking Day, which has been held with the support of the International Sports for All Association (TAFIS) around the world for more than 20 years.
