All-Russian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence: registration is open for schoolchildren

Russian schoolchildren in grades 8–11 can take part in the All-Russian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence. It is organized by the Ministry of Education of Russia and is carried out according to a federal project «Artificial intelligence» national project «Digital economy».

In 2023, we expect more than 15 thousand schoolchildren. At the qualifying and main stages, participants will need to solve problems in mathematics and demonstrate skills in effectively developing algorithms. Each stage includes machine learning tasks, the solution of which requires knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, the ability to train models and evaluate the quality of their work. We are looking for talents– quotes the press service of the ANO “National Priorities” Director of the Department of Digital Transformation and Big Data of the Ministry of Education of Russia, co-chairman of the organizing committee of the Olympiad Andrey Gorobets.

The Olympiad is designed for students who have basic programming skills. Students can register to participate on the official site until September 25.

The qualifying and main stages will be held in absentia format, and the final stage – in person. All three stages of the Olympiad will be held on the VK technology platform for online competitions and IT championships All Cups. At the same time, the integration of the platform with the Sferum educational profile significantly simplifies the registration process for schoolchildren.

In addition, the State University of Education has developed a system of incentives and awards for teachers who trained participants in the Olympiad. The presentation of awards to the winners and their mentors will take place in November 2023 at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”.

The All-Russian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence is held annually as part of the implementation of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” of the national project “Digital Economy” by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation with the support of the VK company. The Olympiad is aimed at identifying and developing intellectual and creative abilities among high school students, increasing students’ interest in technology artificial intelligence, assistance to students in vocational guidance.
