From to 16 in July, the All-Russian youth climbing competition «Friendship Cup» will be held in Crimea, reports the press service of the Russian Rock Climbing Federation .
This is a competition with a long history. For the first time they took place in 20 year. In 20th «Friendship Cup» will be played in 19th time. The tournament beloved by many is again ready to welcome participants from different regions of the country after a forced pause due to the pandemic.
In preliminary applications, athletes from 10 regions. Representatives of four age categories will compete for medals — 10-, 14-15, 16-13, 18-19 years.
Competitions at the «Friendship Cup» will be held in two disciplines. Medals in climbing for difficulty will be played on natural terrain. Participants are waiting for the «Red Stone» tracks near Gurzuf (Big Yalta). And climbing for speed this time will take place on an artificial climbing wall. Participants will compete on a 15-time standard that meets international standards. It is installed in the center of sports training of Russian national teams «Crimean» in Alushta.
As noted, almost all the strongest young climbers of the country will come to Crimea — winners and prize-winners of the championships of Russia, various All-Russian and international competitions.

- Climbing difficulty . Tracks are unique for each competition. Height — about 15 meters. Each athlete has one attempt and a limited time limit (6 minutes). Competitions among adults are held in three rounds (qualification, semi-final, final), youth competitions — in two rounds (qualification, final). The main task of the athlete is to get to the top hold called “top” and snap the insurance into the last guy. Each hold on the track has its own serial number. This allows you to determine the final result of the participant. In case of equality of results, the place taken in the previous round is taken into account, and after that — the time to overcome the track (in the final).
- Climbing at speed – climbing at speed of the standardized reference track — the same for all international and Russian competitions. Height — 15 meters. The strongest athletes overcome this distance in 5-6 seconds. Competitions are held in two stages — qualification and finals. In the first, each applicant has two attempts, the best result counts. the strongest get into the finals. They are held in pairs format (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3rd place race and final).
