Almost 2 out of 3 parents of schoolchildren in Crimea are against the cancellation of homework

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Opponents of the cancellation of homework are almost 2 out of 3 parents of schoolchildren in Crimea. Especially often those who graduated from school with a medal speak about the negative consequences of such measures. Parents of school-age children from Crimea took part in the survey of the SuperJob service for finding a highly paid job.

Vice Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov proposed to cancel homework for schoolchildren. In his opinion, this is a «world experience», and the unloading of children and teachers will benefit everyone. However, 63% of parents do not agree with the position of the deputy — they spoke out against the abolition of homework. In the comments, parents remind that from the point of view of pedagogy, homework is a consolidation of the material studied at school, so its cancellation will negatively affect the quality of education. Only 1 out of 6 respondents (16%) support the idea of V. Davankov: they are convinced that children should study exclusively at school, and in their free time go in for sports and walk in the fresh air— noted in the press service of the service.

There are slightly more supporters of the abolition of «homework» among those parents who at one time studied mainly for «fours» (28%) and «triples» (18%). And the number of opponents of such measures is especially large among those who graduated from school with a gold or silver medal (83%). Men are more likely to object to changes in established pedagogical practice than women (71% versus 55%).

The older the students, the more often their parents oppose the idea of canceling homework: 20% among mothers and fathers of elementary school students, 17% among parents of middle school students, and 11% among parents of students in grades 10-11.
