Almost 200 Crimeans underwent examination during the action dedicated to World Mlanoma Diagnostics Day
Krympress reports:
As explained by the chief physician of the GBUZ of the RK “Clinical skin and venereological dispensary” Julia Lebedeva, melanoma is a malignant skin tumor that develops from age cells and is one of the most aggressive types of cancer.
Most often, light -skinned people and those who have a large number of pigmenting nevi or pigmented formations — moles on the skin are sick with melanoma. The main factor provoking the disease is an excessive and prolonged effect of ultraviolet radiation. UV rays damage DNA of skin cells, which can lead to their malignant transformation and the development of melanoma. Therefore, it is very important to use sunscreen with a SPF factor from 30 to 50, to be in deep shadow during the hours of maximum solar activity-from 9 to 16, monitor the changes on the skin-any formation of more than 0.5 millimeters requires a detailed inspection, — Comments the specialist.
In the event of new formations on the skin, or changes in age spots or moles, you should seek a specialist consultation as early as possible. The size of the size, shape, color of the pigment element, the appearance of its asymmetry, itching, redness, peeling or bleeding should be alert.
If melanoma is detected at an early stage, the chances of cure are quite large, so regular preventive examinations and attentive attitude to their health play an important role. We urge Crimeans not to ignore disturbing symptoms and turn to specialists in a timely manner to conduct the necessary research and receive qualified assistance, — concluded Julia Lebedeva.
